Current Drugstore Favorites & SJP Shoe Haul

Today's video is a serious mash-up. A little combo of some drugstore favorites and new shoes.

Makes sense, right? ;)

So I knew it was about time to put together a little group of my current drugstore favorites. It's been a minute since I shared my picks! I always think of my beauty stash as a good mix of high and low. For me it's just not realistic to not shop at the drugstore. Most of my items I repurchase again and again are from there, along with many of my beauty staples. Aside from my old favorites, it's always fun to discover new little gems.

Rewind to yesterday...  I had been anxiously awaiting the delivery of my new SJP collection shoes.  I was SO excited when I opened them. As a long-time SJP fan (I was obsessed with her as a kid. Think Girls Just Want to Have Fun days...),  this shoe collection has really excited me.  So since I'm basically in love with the ones I chose, I thought I'd throw those babies into the mix too. I mean, why not??

Hope you enjoy the video!! Look for an OOTD post showing the shoes a little better here soon!

My Foundation Routine for Glowy Skin

Hello Loves! Hope you all had a great week! I know I'm SO ready for the weekend...  On another note, thank you all for the sweet "feel better" messages! I'm actually feeling a lot better. Today I've been mentally willing myself to get back to 100. Mind over matter...
Anyway, I'm planning on a day of shopping with a friend tomorrow and I am SO ready to get out of this house!

So back to the makeup... I wanted to share an updated foundation routine tutorial with you all sharing my new fav application method and products that give me a natural glowy look. Which is my favorite look for foundation.
The tricky part? I have oily skin. So I've always kind of steered away from that look or products that promise it. Just because sometimes, glowy equals shiny... and shiny is NEVER good.
So using this method with these products gives amazing results and awesome staying power. I'm completely loving it and I hope you all do too!
Oh, and the best part? The main products that give the glowy effect (primer and foundation) are CHEAP and available at the drugstore. Can't beat that.

What I Used:
Origins Vitazing Moisturizer
Loreal Lumi Primer
Loreal True Match Lumi Foundation (I'm shade N1-2)
Sigma F84 brush
MAC Studio Finish concealer
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Undereye Circle Eraser (shade fair)
Sigma F86 brush
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder #1
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (medium)
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Nars Multiple stick in Orgasm
Too Faced Candlelight
MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Supreme Style

Current Drugstore Favorites (and an embarrassing chilhdhood confession)

For as long as I can remember, I've always been a bit of a product junkie.  When I was little, I remember combing the cosmetic sections of drugstores with my mom.  Oh how I LOVED my soda flavored Lip Smackers and cotton candy flavored sticky body sprays...
When I would go spend weekends with my grandparents, I would always talk my Grandma into getting me a new shampoo or conditioner to try when I would go with her to the grocery store.  What's funny is that I remember "pretend" reviewing these products in the bathroom mirror. YEARS and years before YouTube existed.  I pretended I had my own tv show.  I was informing the invisible masses. Maybe I was a crazy kid. Maybe I liked talking to myself...  Now, I like to think I was just practicing for my future on YT.
Anyway, not much has changed.  Of course, now I splurge on more expensive brands of beauty products.  However, I make it a point to stay away from the sticky cotton candy body sprays. And I try to refrain from talking to myself in the mirror as much.
Regardless, I'm still a drugstore product junkie. Some of my most used and most loved products are from there.
Some? Make that a LOT. After making this Current Drugstore Favorites video, I realize that I actually have a ridiculous amount of favorites at the drugstore. Check out a full list of my favorites below and don't forget to check out the video for little mini-reviews on each and for more information.

Let's Talk Foundation...

I think the most important (and often the most difficult) makeup "feat" to master for most people is foundation. It sounds simple enough- No crazy methods of application, nothing too precise. However, choosing the right formula and type of foundation really makes all the difference. I guess finding the right formula (brand, type, etc) is the real feat.

After years of complete trial and error where foundations are concerned, I've found a few wonderful ones that work great for me. Since I'm pretty picky about foundations (and since my oily skin tends to make finding one that holds up and stays true even more difficult) I tend to stick with something once I find "the one".

Totally sounds like I'm talking about a serious relationship or something.

Foundations are serious business.

So I decided to create a little video (...ok a BIG 17-minute long video) talking about and showing my favorite (and some honorable mentions) foundations and concealers I've found that actually pass the test of all my picky-ness. That's totally a word.

Foundations and concealers mentioned in the video:
Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ Foundation
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment
MAC Studio Finish concealer
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder

A few honorable mentions...
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Brightening Concealer

Drugstore Finds...

Ahhhhh... the Drugstore. Such a magical place.

Who else gets excited about being able to pick up false lashes, Coke Zero, liquid eyeliner, and toilet paper all under one roof?

...just me?

But seriously, I love drugstores. Most of my tried and true beauty staples can be found there.

So I figured I'd share some items I picked up during a recent trip to my local Walgreens. What began as a quick trip to pick up conditioner (major necessity), led to me walking out the door with some awesome beauty products I can't wait to try.
