MAC Cinderella Swatches

Oh, hi there.
Been a while, huh? Yeah. I've totally neglected the blog for a while now. I've had so many ideas... So many products to share... So many videos that should've had an accompanying post.

But sometimes, life gets busy and that stuff just doesn't work out. Sometimes you just don't feel like doing...stuff. So that's been the past few months for me in this blogland.

I'm excited to start posting again.  Well, by "start posting again" I mean according to my own non-schedule where this blog is concerned. I've never been super structured with this place like I am on my YouTube channel.  I just like to post here when I want about what I want. But I've missed it like crazy!! Feels good to be back. So here we go...

MAC Cinderella
Available online February 26, 2015
Available in-store March 5, 2015 through April 16, 2015

I love MAC. I love Disney. I love Cinderella. She was pretty much the first Disney princess I fell in love with as a child. So when I got this collection from MAC, I was super excited. Like jumping up and down in the kitchen excited.

So here ya go... All the photos and swatches of the products I received from this collection. I've got a video coming up soon all about my actual thoughts and little reviews on each product after actually using them.  So look out for that coming up soon on my YouTube channel!

Until then, here are the swatches:

Iridescent Powder in Coupe D'Chic $28.

Beauty Powder in Silver Dusk $28. (In the product info, it says the only Beauty Powder in the collection is supposed to be called "Mystery Princess" and is described as nothing like this one. Maybe it's a mistake? Not sure which is the mistake though... so that's awesome.)

Lipglass in Glass Slipper $16.50

MAC Moody Blooms Collection

Today I'm bringing you info on another new MAC Collection, Moody Blooms.  This one is all about vibrant lips and eyes in, well, moody shades.

MAC Moody Blooms
available online now HERE
through August 21, 2014

I was so surprised how much I love the shades I have!

I've explained this before when I receive MAC collections to share with you all... Basically sometimes I receive the whole collection, sometimes I get just bits and pieces.
This time I received only part of the collection, but the shades I have are a good representation of the collection and what to expect! To see more of the products in this collection, check them all out here.

But first, let's check out all these pretties...

 left: LUST EXTRACT electric violet
right: VENOMOUS VIOLET (ONLINE EXCLUSIVE) deep berry

I'm a huge fan of Sheen Supreme Lipsticks. I love the formula, the payoff, the shine... everything about them. These shades are no exception. I love how Sheen Supremes just always work. No matter how vibrant the shade, they're always somehow wearable.  Both of these shades are beautiful.  LUST EXTRACT is especially beautiful. Definitely a color I can see myself wearing a lot. VENOMOUS VIOLET is one of those that looks terrifying in the tube, but actually wears quite pretty. The issue with this shade is that it may not work on all skin tones. At first I thought this could be another version of Clinique's Black Honey. You know, the lipstick that looks black but transfers as a beautiful berry? This one is a little less berry and more violet. So while I would usually recommend trying before you buy, this one is an online exclusive, so if you think it could work, you'll have to take a chance! It's really unique.

 Eye Shadow, $15.
left: ARTISTIC LICENSE pinky gold (veluxe pearl)
right: BLOOMING MAD mid-tone ultra violet (frost)

It seems that most of the shadows in this collection have a sheen/frost to them. These aren't the most pigmented shades, but the shades themselves are gorgeous. They would work nicely for a nice wash of vibrant color on their own, or even more vibrant with a matching base. One word of warning... While I mentioned these swatched pretty sheer, the BLOOMING MAD shade is especially sheer and much different than how you'd expect it to transfer based on how bright it appears in the pan. So just keep in mind that while it's a beautiful shade, it is sheer, which for some looks can be nice.

WORLDLY WEALTH shimmering peachy bronze

This blush is very pigmented and swatches exactly as described... It is a beautiful peachy bronze with a lot of shimmer. This would be gorgeous on darker skin tones.  However, for more fair gals, you could definitely pull it off by applying it with a lighter hand for a pretty summer-y glow.

left: BLUSHING BERRY mid-tone cool red
right: BUBBLEGUM soft warm pink

Fluidline, $16.
left: COPPERTHORN glittery bronze
right: NIGHTSHADE blackened plum

While both of these are gorgeous, COPPERTHORN really stands out, both in color and formula. It is so pigmented, so you don't have to keep building and layering to achieve that gorgeous, opaque bronze. NIGHTSHADE is a gorgeous, shimmering plum that while gorgeous, requires a bit of a heavier hand and maybe a few layers to build to the color swatched.

So what do you all think?? Will you be picking any of these up? What are your favorites from this collection?

My TOP MAC Lipsticks!

Happy Monday, Loves! So this is a video I've been meaning to share for a while now. I actually think I've done versions of these in the past where I've shared either top lip products in general or favorite groups of color-specific MAC shades.

Well this time, I really wanted to stay true to the shades I reach for most often from my favorite lipstick brand. I didn't stick to any particular formulas, color groups, or any other specific categories.  I just grabbed the ones that I could definitely be happy with if I had no other lipstick shades.

These are my absolute best of the best!

So for more info on each shade, check out the video below!

As promised, here are some photo swatches of the colors!

(left-right) Angel, Creme Cup, Creme d’ Nude, Myth, Blankety, Ravishing, Politely Pink

(left-right) Secret Lover, High Tea, Viva Glam V, Snob, MAC Red, Supreme Style (Sheen Supreme), A Rose Romance *Limited Edition, not currently available*, Be Fabulous (Mineralize Rich)

So what are YOUR all-time favorite MAC lipstick shades? If you're curious about any particular shades or want to pick some up for yourself, shop the post below!

Chocolate Bar Palette Tutorial & Review- Candied Violet

Hello and happy Monday, everyone!  I hope you all are having a great start to your week!

I've been loving my new Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette so much that I couldn't resist doing a look with it today for you all. I sort of combined this video with a small review for the palette as well, but since that was a bit brief, I thought we'd get a bit more in-depth here.  So after we talk all things Chocolate Bar Palette, be sure to check out the tutorial at the bottom of the post!

We'll start with the photos...

I actually love the packaging. It's metal and easy to open and close due to the magnetic closure. I prefer that rather than having a clunky snap closure *cough* Naked 2 and 3 palettes *cough*. Plus the outer little "chocolate bar" design is just too darn cute.

When you open the palette, the yummy cocoa powder, chocolatey smell is really apparent (one of the ingredients is actually real cocoa powder). It's not a gross, fake chocolate smell, but rather a really yummy scent that actually makes me look forward to opening it and using it everyday. It's just a fun little extra.

Inside, there are 16 individual colors, with a removable little transparent sheet with the shade names on it. I like that it totally removes.

Here's a better look at the shades...

I love the variety. I'll admit, when this first came out, I was intrigued (because we all know how I feel about good neutrals), but I resisted for a while. I'm SO happy I actually caved and picked one up. We all know I have a ridiculous amount of eye shadows and palettes, so even though I continue to purchase new ones and try them out, sometimes, even when the quality is amazing, I always feel like I can replicate them.
This one is different. For one, it has everything I need in one palette. Perfect shades of brown, perfect highlighting shades, gorgeous shimmery shades, and a few shades in colors that "pop". Aside from the color selection, the actual quality is wonderful.  And we all know how I feel about that intoxicating chocolate scent...

Here are some swatches...

Pretty right?? What do you guys think about this one?

So here is my first tutorial using this palette. There are SO many looks I want to share with this one. Look for another one coming up soon!

IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 MATTE Palette Swatches/Review

I totally realize I've been gushing like crazy about this palette lately, so this is definitely not going to be one of those review posts where you're waiting for my definitive verdict.
There is no mystery here... We all know I'm sort of obsessed with this one.

But I wanted to accompany my latest tutorial video (a natural Spring look using this palette) with some more in-depth swatches and info on this palette, as promised.  In that video I gave a quick little overview at the beginning of the palette, but there is so much more about this palette that makes it unique.

So here we go. First off, the packaging...

Shown above is the box and outside of the palette itself. It's sort of a spongy, soft, fleshy-rose color. Not bad, not great, aesthetically. However, I really like the actual make-up of the palette. The actual way it's made. It's very similar to the way the first Naked palette is made with the large flap and magnetic closure along the front. It's very easy to get in and out of.

As far as the inside, it's gold and gorgeous...

The palette consists of fifteen shades total. Fourteen of those are actual colors, ranging from more natural tones (highlight colors, tans, browns, and light gray-taupes), as well as some more rose-y mauves, a sunny coral, purples, a navy blue, and a jet black.  All of these shades are labeled as being "matte", however they are so much more. They aren't a typical flat, chalky matte at all. They are my absolute favorite type of matte... almost with a bit of a satin-y sheen. Just enough to keep them from looking chalky on the lid. They definitely still appear matte on the lids, but they have a more natural finish. They are smooth, buttery, and almost creamy (they are definitely a powder), in that they apply so smoothly.  They all blend together like a dream (even the darker shades) to create that glowing and beautiful, blended eye effect. Like I said in my recent video, they basically blend themselves.

What makes this so palette unique (other than the quality) is that larger shade in the lower right corner of the palette. This "transforming pearl" shade is made to layer over the shades to almost create fourteen entirely new pearlescent, shimmery shades.

Here's a better look...

Here's a swatch of all the shades applied straight from the palette, without the transforming pearl shade over them.

taken in the sunlight, without the transforming pearl

taken in natural light (not direct sunlight)

And here they are with the transforming pearl blended over them...

Pretty right??

So aside from all the great things I've already said, it gets better. The actual formula is anti-aging! It has ingredients that actually make your lids appear younger and smoother. Very unique for a powder eye shadow.

Here's the description from IT Cosmetics:

"Includes Hydrating Age Reverse and Prevent Complex and infused with Peptides, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Silk, Anti-Oxidants and Drops of Light Technology. Paraben-free, fragrance-free, sulfate-free, cruelty free.

...All shades can be used wet or dry as shadows or liners and are designed to make your lids look younger with lid-loving ingredients including Peptides, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Acai, Green Tea, Silk and antioxidants!

These luxe, anti-aging shadows were developed with plastic surgeons to instantly diffuse the look of lines and wrinkles on the eyes and lids."

Pretty cool, huh?

The palette is available at Ulta.com (and in stores as well) for $42.

If you missed my latest video about this, check it out here to see the palette in action! I can't wait to do more looks with this one!  Maybe even later this week... ;)
*I've also added ANOTHER tutorial! Check out the latest one here (Brightening Smokey Eye).

So what do you all think? Have you tried this one??
