Eye Brightening Smokey Makeup Tutorial

Apparently this week I've been majorly in the mood to do tutorials... because today I'm back with another!  This one is unique in that it is a smokey eye that actually makes your eyes appear brighter and more awake.

While dark, smokey eyes are beautiful (and some of my favorites where makeup looks are concerned), they can be a bit enclosing.  At times, they can also make your eyes actually appear smaller.
So in this video, I'm going to show you how to avoid all that, while still keeping the beautiful dark and smokey intensity of the deep eye shadow colors and liners used.

Oh, and I busted out my IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol.1 Matte (that's a mouthful) palette again!

My "Go-To" FULL Makeup Tutorial- Winged Liner, Natural Eye

Today I'm bringing you another one of my absolute favorite makeup looks. I would definitely call this my "go-to" look.  Maybe even a signature look? When I do my makeup, I usually go for a few things, no matter what products I use: a natural-toned eye, winged liner, pink-peach lips, and perfected brows and skin.


This is definitely the type of look that I wear 90% of the time.  If you look back at my videos over the past 6 years, most of the time this is the type of look I'm wearing (aside from specific tutorials).  I also recently posted my "go-to" smokey eye in this post.

Flirty Date Night Makeup Tutorial- MAC

I can't believe Valentine's Day is only one week away! I always love this time of year because Valentine's Day falls on the same week as our anniversary. Can't believe Brad and I have been married 6 years already! Time flies...

I find myself always leaning toward a specific type of look for date nights. I like to do something sexy, defined, and a bit flirty. I'm not into the idea of a significant other (especially on a date when you want to look extra nice) look at me and think, "Dang, that's a lot of makeup..."
I like to use more natural shades in a more defined way. Definitely a little more dramatic than the everyday look, with the added flair of some flirty and fluttery false lashes to make the look extra sexy.

So whether you're planning on a date night for Valentine's Day, or a fun night out with friends, try this look! It's one of my favorites!

Easy Winged Liner Technique

Winged liner is one of the trickiest makeup techniques that people struggle with. Totally understandable! I've found over the years that there are SO many ways to do it and so many "techniques" that can actually make it more difficult than it has to be. I've found that a lot of people get caught up with having to make this perfect wing in one fluid motion. Yeah, that can be tricky.
If you've been here a while, it's no secret that I'm a fan of liquid liner and a winged look. I've tried SO many different liners and techniques and currently, this one is a winner. Sure, I'm used to "winging" liner and can do it pretty quickly with good results, but this technique is just pretty foolproof.
Not to mention, it's super long-wearing and makes your liner look SUPER dark. It's a winner in my book.

Soft Smoky Eye Tutorial- Naked 3 Palette

So after sharing my thoughts on the new Naked 3 palette last week (in this post), I wanted to actually show you all how I make it work for me with this really easy soft and smokey eye look. I think this palette is super versatile. From really natural looks to the more sexy and dramatic, it's really easy to create so much variety with this one.  I would say this look falls somewhere in-between.
I LOVE using darker shades and making them soft and wearable, while keeping a little bit of drama. I could honestly make this look work for any occasion. Definitely a go-to look for me, especially around the holidays when lots of parties, outings, and events are on the calendar.

Bold Blue Winged Liner Makeup Tutorial

Hello and Happy Monday, Loves!
To brighten things up on this dreary, rainy Monday, I thought it only appropriate to bust out my fun new cobalt blue liner.
I love wearing bold color in a way that is still super feminine, glamorous, and flattering. LOVE wearing fun-colored liners this way!

Fall Makeup Tutorial (Lorac Pro Palette) & OOTD

I am SO ready for Fall. With all the recent little tastes of cooler weather, all the Fall fashion begging to get into my closet, and college football (oh yeah, and HELLO, it's September!), all the little reminders that Fall is upon us are all around.
I couldn't resist busting out my newest (and much-loved) eye shadow palette for a little Fall fun. The Lorac Pro Palette is seriously one of my favorite beauty purchases of late. Maybe for the entire year.

Lining the Waterline: Best Liners & Tutorial

If you subscribe to my YouTube channel, you may have seen my video I posted yesterday all about my new darker hair! I'm so excited about it... If you couldn't tell from the video. ;)

So with the darker hair, I'm loving adding a bit more drama to my eyes. I've always been a big fan of eyeliner. To me, it's one of the biggest ways you can transform your look.  While I've never been one to always line the waterline, or "tightline" my eyes, I've been doing it a lot lately. Even before the color change.
So I thought since this technique - while simple, can be tricky, I'd devote a new video to it explaining some of my favorite products to use in that area as well as a little tutorial/demo of how I've been lining mine.

So to explain the whole tricky-yet-simple thing... What makes it tricky is the area itself. Since it's a moist area, using a liner that transfers to it easily without irritation is key. You not only need to be careful about the products you use, but you need to select products that will last throughout the day as well.  Trust me, I've tried basically every eye liner known to mankind.

Well, maybe not all of them, but I know a thing or two about most of them.

So I hope you guys enjoy my video all about the products I recommend for lining the waterline and the tutorial for how I have been applying mine lately. I also demonstrate my little trick which is what I think is pretty key in helping it stay put throughout the day. It's really simple!

My Go-To Neutral Glam Makeup Tutorial

So today I thought I'd start the week with one of my go-to looks. My "go-to" glamorous, yet neutral look using some of my favorite MAC eye shadows.  It's seriously one of my favs, y'all.
This look is perfect when you want a little extra somethin' because it's slightly more dramatic than a typical, more "everyday" look using neutral shades.

Flawless & Natural "No Makeup" Makeup Tutorial

Having a good "no makeup" makeup look is essential. For everyone. I don't care how little or how much makeup you like to wear. Colorful Summer Smoky Eye

So this week I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite colorful makeup looks right now.  My version of the "smoky eye" for Summer. It has just the perfect amount of color and natural dark shades to keep the look flattering and to actually accentuate your eyes. Remember, a "smoky" look can be made up of any shades! It just needs to fade out from your dark liner. So be sure to lighten the colors as you blend out. 
So for this look, I changed up the typical brown smoky eye, adding a bit of coral and aqua shades to make it pop.  I hope you guys love it!

How I Get a Flawless Bronze Glow with Chanel Bronze Universal

...and Sheer Illuminating fluid. Seriously that stuff is like magic in a bottle.

Ok, I'm getting ahead of myself.
So I recently purchased two amazing products in the Soleil Tan De Chanel line...
The Bronze Universal and Sheer Illuminating Fluid.


These two products are genius, especially when used together.

Bronze Universal is a bronze cream product and the Sheer Illuminating Fluid is exactly what it sounds like. A perfect sheer illuminating liquid in the perfect shade of bronze. Both products are the perfect shade of bronze. I'm convinced that they will work with ANY skin tone.

If the concept of a cream bronzer freaks you out, worry not my friend. I was there too. After using it for the past several days, I actually find it to be easier and more natural looking than a traditional powder bronzer.  After lots of experimenting (and several bronzed brushes later...)
