Oh, hi there.

Been a while, huh? Yeah. I've totally neglected the blog for a while now. I've had so many ideas... So many products to share... So many videos that should've had an accompanying post. 

But sometimes, life gets busy and that stuff just doesn't work out. Sometimes you just don't feel like doing...stuff. So that's been the past few months for me in this blogland.

I'm excited to start posting again.  Well, by "start posting again" I mean according to my own non-schedule where this blog is concerned. I've never been super structured with this place like I am on my YouTube channel.  I just like to post here when I want about what I want. But I've missed it like crazy!! Feels good to be back. So here we go...

I love MAC. I love Disney. I love Cinderella. She was pretty much the first Disney princess I fell in love with as a child. So when I got this collection from MAC, I was super excited. Like jumping up and down in the kitchen excited.

Dior Star Foundation Review & Demo

Ok, so let me go on record and say that this is the last foundation review I'll be doing for a bit!! ;)
...maybe.

If you've been following me over the past few months, you've probably noticed that I've gone a bit foundation-crazy. While I'm happy to report that I've got a great little foundation collection going, I'm even happier to report that they're all pretty great. *I'm planning a little foundation "round up" soon comparing and ranking all of the ones I have and showing my collection, so stay tuned for that update!

So this foundation review is all about the Dior Star foundation. Super unique. Super awesome. Basically, it's my favorite foundation I currently own.

90's Makeup Tutorial: UD Pulp Fiction Palette

Oh, 90's makeup...

This trend is EVERYWHERE right now! Sometimes I cringe a bit when I hear a decade followed by the word "trend" where makeup is concerned. It can get a bit crazy. Because no decade can really be defined with one specific look, I like to combine my favorite makeup trends from the decade to create something really gorgeous and wearable. Of course, this one has lots of 90's makeup little tricks as well (think blush on your forehead and powdered lips).

This one is especially fun because the 90's aren't too terribly far in our past.  Funny enough, lots of what defines a more "current" look of today is greatly inspired by this decade. I was surprised to discover that my go-to makeup style is very 90's! Hey, no shame. My earliest "real" experimenting with makeup took place in the 90's so it makes sense.

Current Favorite CC Cream Review & Demo: SUPERGOOP

Guys...

This CC Cream... Yeah, It's pretty amazing stuff.

I know, I know... The foundation kick I'm on continues (spoiler alert...It's only going to get worse in the coming weeks). BUT, out of all my latest discoveries, this may be the best.  I could go on and on about it and make this post super wordy and lengthy (restrain yourself, Tiffany... restrain yourself...).  So feel free to watch the video below for all the details and a demo to see exactly how the stuff actually covers and works.


Or, I can hit the high points for ya below if you don't have time to watch (definitely leaving out quite a bit that is covered in the video, but you get the idea).

PROS:

• amazing coverage
• doesn't leave any greasy residue and really "sets" to your skin 
• holds up super well on oily skin 
• versatile (can be used as a primer under foundation for more coverage, or on it's own)
• feels clean and light
• natural-looking
• good ingredients and a good SPF
• self-adjusting shades
• a little goes a very long way

CONS:

• I have to mix 2 shades to get my perfect shade (fair-light and light-medium)
• only 3 shades to choose from (they're VERY different, hence mixing two)

So without saying, you can probably tell I love the stuff. It's definitely been my go-to product for weeks now. I like to replace my skincare in the morning with it (instead of using moisturizer/spf, I use this) and it perfects my skin enough to where I don't feel like I have to apply a ton of makeup afterward, or at all.  Most of the time, I'll apply my foundation over it and that works out great as well. Since it's not heavy at all and feels very "set" and, to me, almost primer-like, it works beautifully like this.

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation Review/Demo

I'm on a bit of a foundation kick lately (you may have noticed...).  SO many new ones to try! 

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with pressed powder foundations. I have oily skin, so if the formula is right, they can be a lifesaver for combatting shine and keeping my skin looking matte and fresh throughout the day.  They're also super easy and convenient.

However, certain formulas can look a bit cakey, settle into lines, and dry out your skin like nobody's business.

Seriously, nobody has any business dealing with those types of problems when you're spending a lot on a makeup product.

So I decided to give this one a go after reading all of its seemingly miraculous claims of a "rose petal matte finish" (Who doesn't think that sounds good?), not settling into lines or drying out skin, medium-full buildable coverage, and probably my favorite part, the sweet cocoa powder scent.

I use shade "light", which is a pretty perfect match for me. When I first opened the packaging and smelled the chocolate (exactly like that of the Chocolate Bar palette or their cocoa powder-infused bronzers if you're familiar), I got a little woozy...  Good woozy.

But I'm a skeptic where powder foundations are concerned so I gave it a good go for a few weeks and tested it in a variety of conditions (applying it lightly vs. heavily, applying it on super humid and hot days, touching up vs. not touching up all day, using certain concealers with it, primers, CC creams, you name it...) and think I've found the application method that works perfectly for me at this point.

As I've mentioned, I do have some skin issues going on right now (nothing major, but a bit more hormonal breaking out than usual due to my pregnancy), so I feel like it's the perfect time to really put some of these foundations to the test.
We all know that anyone with perfect skin can pretty much make any foundation work for them, but sometimes it's best to really put the stuff to the test and see how it works with breakouts, discoloration, and even all of this southern heat and humidity we've been experiencing in my neck of the woods lately.

While I did a complete video review of this stuff (seriously, it's pretty thorough), and a demo showing you exactly how I've been using it lately in the way that works best for me (video at bottom of post), I'll go ahead and hit some of the high points and final thoughts...

First of all, it really lives up to all the claims it makes. It indeed does not settle into fine lines, look cakey, or dry out your skin, which is often my biggest complaint with pressed powder foundations. The finish IS beautiful. The whole "matte rose petal finish" description is pretty spot-on.  I've also found that the coverage is above average for a powder foundation like this, and indeed can be built up (and built up quickly).  To me, that is so important. While I like the actual results of the loose mineral foundations I've reviewed recently, I really get impatient working with the stuff for so long. All the building up of small amounts and blending and building and blending...  It can suck up some serious time in your routine.
This stuff is great because with the right brush (I detail all of my favorites in the video/demo), you can seriously pile the stuff on (not the best description for makeup application...), blend, and you're good to go.

For me right now, with all the discoloration I've got going on, I do have to add some concealer (and I even like to start with a CC cream as my primer step beforehand just to start off with a bit of coverage, however, when all that goes away and my skin is back to normal, this foundation will be even easier, because I don't think I'll need to add so much concealer to it. I find that it covers typical unevenness and discoloration pretty well on it's own.

My Fav Sexy & Smokey FULL MAKEUP TUTORIAL

Let's face it, we all need a go-to makeup look. I'm finding that a variation of this look is definitely mine.
I love my makeup to look sexy, flattering, a little smokey... You definitely can't go wrong with that combo, in my opinion!
So today I decided to just turn the camera on and go for it. *Be prepared for a lot of details in this one... I left NOTHING out! 
Seriously, this is my complete current makeup routine, start to finish for when I want to go for something a little sexier. This particular variation involves a bit of bronze, peach, and plum. One of my favorite eye shadow combos.

Major Makeup Declutter...

I'm in total nesting mode... Must. Clean. Out. Everything...

Makeup is no exception. Actually, even if I weren't nesting, I would have totally still needed to do this.
When you're kind of makeup-obsessed like me (not to mention when you make beauty videos and are constantly getting new things to try and sample), a decent-sized collection can cross the line into totally out of control overnight. Mine had crossed that line.

So I decided to do a major makeup overhaul and film this little video to give you some of my guidelines and tips that I followed as I completed this crazy task.
Seriously though, it felt so good to get rid of things I no longer needed and things that were just plain old and expired.




I posted this video last week and already I've gotten so many messages and comments from viewers who have done the same and pared-down their collections a bit. It really is a great feeling! Oh and a little update for ya... As I mentioned in the video, I still had a long way to go as I took you guys through my smaller (but still quite large, to me) makeup collection.  I'm happy to report that I've gone through it again since filming and gotten rid of so much more! Sometimes you feel differently on different days, so I always like to go through areas I'm in the process of cleaning out again and again on totally different days.  So I'm feeling good about my makeup stash now (and totally itching to clean out something else). Any of you cleaning out your collections? ...Or anyone else in a total nesting/Spring cleaning in the Summer mood like me? 

Current Foundation Routine: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Full Coverage

I have been on a little foundation-testing/reviewing roll lately.  So I'm back today with yet another...
However, this one is so so very different. In this video, I demo a foundation I've loved for quite a while now (and somehow never reviewed or demo-ed).  It's the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Full Coverage foundation.
And it is glorious.

First of all, if you've been following my beauty adventures of late, you've seen that I went a little mineral-makeup-crazy for a while with Bare Minerals and the Tarte Airbrush Foundation.  Both great, but to me, there's just nothing that compares to a great liquid.
Lately, this Tarte liquid is at the top of my list.  It's just so easy and fast to apply and gives me the most natural, perfected look.

So I figured the best way to explain my thoughts on this foundation, from the best application method, to other products that work well with it, would be to compile a new little "current foundation routine" video.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation Review & Tutorial

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!

I have been really in to trying loose mineral foundations lately. Since Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands (I'm IN LOVE with the Amazonian Clay Full Coverage liquid), I thought the Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation would work great with my skin too.

Well, it does... But it's far more time-consuming and a little harder to achieve a full-coverage look when you're dealing with breakouts and uneven skin tone, as I have been lately coming out of my first trimester of pregnancy (hello hormones).
But there are definitely pros as well. It works beautifully on oily/combination skin and the finish is great!  Oh and the packaging is pretty awesome.

Ok, ok, I know that verdict is a little vague for me... We all know I love a detailed review. So I created a full, in-depth review video below as well as a complete tutorial demo-ing this foundation in an everyday foundation routine. The application method and tools you use can completely make or break this foundation, so a video is the only way to go. I hope you enjoy it!

Everyone needs a survival kit...

Especially a beauty survival kit. We've all been there. Out and about, feeling great...

...and then you look in the mirror to find some not so nice makeup issues going on. Womp womp.
Happens to all of us.

To me, it's essential to have a little survival kit that doesn't take up much space, but contains everything you'd need to fix any makeup "womp womps" you may have. It's especially essential when you like to wear makeup, but live somewhere like I do that gets super hot and humid in the Summer time... Recipe for disaster right there.

Making False Lashes Look Natural and Perf.

False lashes are SO fun. Whether you go for a more intense, dramatic effect, or if you just like to reach for the natural-looking ones, the trick is getting the application right.
You can apply the longest, most fluttery lashes and still get a look that doesn't scream "HEY everyone! I'm wearing false lashes!!"

We've all been there. No shame. So I wanted to share some tips so that you can have no fear of looking "fake" and wear your falsies proudly.

Funny enough, it's not just about how you apply the actual lashes. The way you do your actual eye makeup, brows, etc. can all actually be the most important factor.

"Naturally Pretty" Makeup Tutorial

Happy Friday, Loves! Today I wanted to share with you all my current, absolute favorite way to wear my makeup.  If you've watched any of my recent videos, this is very similar to that look I've been wearing (using all the same products). I had a lot of requests to do a tutorial for it, so here we are!

The look is so versatile and wearable anywhere, day or night, yet is super put-together and fun. It's one of those looks that will drive compliments wherever you go.  Well, definitely because it looks good, but I think mostly because it's one of those makeup looks that everyone wants to achieve. The colors are natural, the shades are all blended nicely, but this look is more than that. It's all about the placement in the crease and layering shades in a way where they "blend" themselves.
I love to share these types of looks because I think everyone can appreciate it. To me, this is definitely one of those looks that everyone should know how to do, because it always works and looks amazing!

My TOP MAC Lipsticks!

Happy Monday, Loves! So this is a video I've been meaning to share for a while now. I actually think I've done versions of these in the past where I've shared either top lip products in general or favorite groups of color-specific MAC shades. 

Well this time, I really wanted to stay true to the shades I reach for most often from my favorite lipstick brand. I didn't stick to any particular formulas, color groups, or any other specific categories.  I just grabbed the ones that I could definitely be happy with if I had no other lipstick shades.

My Favorite Summer Bronze Makeup Tutorial & OOTD

Today I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite makeup looks to wear during the summertime... My favorite way to wear bronze.

Golden-bronze makeup just goes with Summer. This particular look is fun and glamorous, yet simple enough to wear anywhere, day or night.  It's just one of those looks that always works.

I also wanted to share with you a laid-back outfit, perfect for Summer nights (or days). I love a good jumpsuit! They're so simple. I like to add bold accessories to give the look some edge...
